APPRENTICE level questions are the easiest type you could get in an exam. Start here if you've only just learned the topic or if you feel like you've forgotten everything!
EXPERT level questions are typical exam problems. They might take a bit of thinking about but they are likely to come up again at some point so it's worth putting the effort in to make sure you fully understand them. Being able to do Expert Questions accurately (and have a go at the Master Questions) is enough for an A* grade.
Make sure you can do Expert Questions before you worry about Master Questions.
MASTER level questions are difficult exam questions which even A* students found difficult in the exam. If you're aiming for an A* then they're worth working through to improve your overall understanding of the topic but unlike Expert Questions, they are unlikely to come up again in exactly this form. Not being able to do Master Questions does not mean you can't get an A*.
Evolution is a fundamental concept, so make sure that you can describe natural selection. A good example of a topic where practicing past paper questions will be much more effective than simply revising the content.

These notes cover everything you need to know for AS & A Level Maths. I'd recommend you print them and use them as you're learning the course, annotating them with 'extras' - things to remember or mistakes to try not to make!

We’ve translated the Biology, Chemistry and Maths A-Level curriculum into short & exam specific tutorials for AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL. We also cut out all the waffle from your text books and translated — only the key content — into exam answers.
We are the only virtual solution for professional exam training & preparation in the UK. Our tutorials teach students exactly what the examiners want to see on the exam, and how to get top marks (in half the time).
I’m Rich! Self-confessed Chemistry geek, tech-lover, guitar-worshipper and proud ginger Welshman (although I don’t have the accent!).
I’ve been tutoring for over 15 years and have had great success in helping students achieve their potential in Chemistry, explaining it in a way that they understand. Chemistry is hard! Whether it’s working through those tough calculations or finding ways to remember that long list of organic chemistry reagents and conditions I promise you, there’s a way through! I use a variety of techniques to help you target the areas that will maximise your grade potential.
I have an honours degree in Pharmacology from Bath University, I can help you make links with the Biology course too!
Chemistry still has a stigma of being a dry, boring course , conjuring up images of cold labs, stained lab coats and long lists of reactions. Well, let’s change that! Chemistry is the science of “stuff”! It’s what drives Biology. It’s the building blocks of Physics! It’s the reason why your food tastes the way it does, why your favourite shampoo works, why the tech we use is getting faster! Isn’t it about time we learned about that!?
